TAEKWON-DO

Basics
Taekwon-do consist of a wide range of kicking, punching and stepping techniques. These movements are characterized by explosive moves designed to maximize one's physical power. During training, skills specific to Taekwon-do are taught along with drills that are extremely versatile and basic to all sports, which gives students the maximum overall physical benefit. The combination of these movements develops cardiovascular endurance, strength, speed, flexibility, coordination and balance.
Perhaps most importantly, All ETTC classes emphasize respect, discipline and showing a positive attitude toward learning. Students are given specific moves to master and are encouraged to set personal goal. Since Taekwon-do taught in a group, students learn that individual must contribute to the group in order for a class to be successful. By working together, students develop social skills and learn about cooperation and mutual respect. By working towards an individual goal, they are able to take pride in their accomplishment, which builds confidence and self-esteem.

Hyungs/Forms
Forms or Hyungs are pre-determined pattern of motion that incorporate basic Taekwon-do techniques, practicing forms helps:
1. Reinforce blocking, striking and punching technique
2. Develop memory, concentration and coordination
3. Develop upper-body strength



Jayo Matsogi/Sparring
Our sparring technique are affiliate to Traditional Taekwon-do (ITF Style) and Sport-Olympic Style Sparring and self-defense technique. Sparring gives students the opportunity to put all their kicking, punching and stepping skills together in a one-on-one situation or combat situation. The goal is to score points by landing kicks and punches on their opponent. Students always wear protective gear during sparring practice and ultimate aim is learning and safety.
Practicing sparring helps:
1. Develop responsiveness by applying a combination of skills in a creative fashion
2. Improve endurance and speed
3. Build self-confidence

Program Over view
Children, Teenager Class (5 to 15 YO), Adult Class(16 and UP):
1. Health, play and sports
2. The Art of Taekwondo (Hyungs/ Forms)
3. Theory of power
4. Competition (National or International Event)
5. Taekwon-do Philosophy (Taekwon-do Philosophy itself, Biblical, IB school philosophy) 6. Self-defense (Hapkido)
7. Competition (Nat or Int Event, under 26 YO)
8. Healing Concept (for Adult Class)
